Pakistan’s educational system just received global recognition. An all-girls team from Lahore Grammar School 55 Main won the championship. Therefore, the Pakistani students space competition victory represents tremendous national pride. The team emerged as Global Finals Champions at the 2026 Global Future Space Scholars’ Meet Final Round. The competition took place in Beijing, China from August 13 to 17. Furthermore, the winning team secured the top position among 260 international competitors. Additionally, they won several team and individual awards throughout the event. The Pakistani students space competition achievement showcases Pakistan’s STEM capabilities worldwide.
The championship-winning team comprised 12 exceptional young women. Alina Imran, Amna Ahmed, Areeba Shakeel and Eshaal Haroon led the efforts. Meanwhile, Fatima Farukh, Mariam Abdul Rahman, Shanzay Umar and Sheza Imran contributed substantially. Furthermore, Umayma Fatima, Wania Saqib, Zahra Fatima and Zainab Tahir completed the roster. Teachers Amina Sabahat and Nadeem Anwar mentored the team professionally. Their guidance proved instrumental in achieving this remarkable success. Therefore, combined student-teacher collaboration produced championship-level performance throughout.
GFSSM represents a premier international engineering and space competition. The program combines science, engineering, business, design and communication skills. Problem-solving through team-based challenges forms the core methodology. The 2026 finals brought together 260 students from nine countries. Competition participants represented more than 17 countries and regions overall. Therefore, the global reach demonstrates the competition’s international significance. Still, Pakistani students excelled among this highly competitive field.
Competition methodology tested students under realistic conditions. Participants from different countries formed multinational teams operating as virtual companies. Each team developed a space-related project proposal within 24 hours. Subsequently, they presented and defended their work before judging panels. This format combines technical knowledge with communication abilities. Therefore, students demonstrated comprehensive competency throughout. Finally, the Pakistani students space competition victory validated their multidisciplinary preparation.
Pakistan fielded multiple teams representing different schools. LGS 55 Main emerged as champions. Meanwhile, LGS Phase 5 delivered a strong performance finishing third. LGS 14-C and LGS Phase 5 also competed internationally. The LGS Phase 5 team included Pareesa Zaid, Muhammad Raamish Nauman and Muhammad Rafay Ammar. Additionally, Ibrahim Lodhi, Amna Qureshi and Umair Alam participated actively. Furthermore, Zoya Hasan Tariq, Alina Binte Amir and Isra Ahmed Bashir contributed. Safdar Zaman, Muhammad Ahmad and Ali Khurram completed the roster.
