PM Shehbaz says India behind terrorism inside Pakistan

PM Shehbaz Sharif on Friday alleged that India’s role in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan was “absolutely clear” and urged the nation to unite against terrorism. He made the remarks while addressing participants at the Balochistan National Workshop in Islamabad. The prime minister also stressed the importance of national unity to defeat security threats.

Shehbaz Sharif claimed India was sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan and said the country must respond with collective resolve. He praised the people and leadership of Balochistan for supporting the federation and acknowledged their contribution to Pakistan’s development. He also said Punjab had supported Balochistan through the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

The prime minister said work on the Karachi-Chaman dual carriageway was continuing. He added that Pakistan’s progress depends on equal contributions from all four provinces. Referring to the fight against terrorism, he said more than 90,000 Pakistanis had embraced martyrdom and noted that a sessions judge was killed in Mastung a day earlier.

The prime minister also praised Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their role in diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States. He said Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace had gained international recognition. A day earlier, Field Marshal Munir also pledged to continue operations against militant groups and said the armed forces would respond firmly to what he described as foreign-sponsored proxies in Balochistan.
